Royal Haflinger Ranch is located in the foothills of the beautiful Cascade Mountain range of 
Central Oregon.  

At Royal Haflinger Ranch we are dedicated to breeding and raising high quality healthy Haflingers 
with outstanding temperaments and good minds. Haflingers that are extremely versatile, suited for the 
show ring, dressage, eventing, driving and riding wilderness mountain trails.  

We do not breed our mares more than two years in a row giving them at least one year out of three to
recover from the physical stresses of foal bearing and nursing. This allows our mares to maintain an excellent
level of health and produce strong, healthy foals. We believe that our mares deserve a performance career 
so giving our mares time off from foaling allows us to compete them so they can show off their abilities.

We also grow our own grass hay in order to provide excellent feed for our horses.

Haflingers originate from the Tyrolean Alps where they have been bred for centuries as steady, durable 
sure-footed mountain horses. Haflingers are wonderful family horses that are very people oriented. They
are very long lived and can be a long-time companion. They are long strided and smooth gaited. Haflinger's sure-footedness and steady nerves have also made them very popular with the military in Austria where they serve the mountain troops to this day.
